LAREDO TRADE TAG TERMS & CONDITIONS

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING THE LAREDO TRADE TAG PROGRAM. THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, TOGETHER WITH YOUR APPLICATION, CONSTITUTE THE TRADE TAG PROGRAM AGREEMENT.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT PRIOR TO USING A LAREDO TRADE TAG TRANSPONDER.

When your transponder is used, you agree as follows:

  1. a) You agree that the Laredo Trade Tag transponder remains the property of the City of Laredo.
  2. b) You agree to affix the Laredo Trade Tag transponder in the vehicle(s) in accordance with the instructions provided in the transponder kit, and to use the transponder(s) only in the vehicles listed in the application.

    c) You agree to a $35.00 security deposit for each transponder.

    d) You agree to obey the posted speed limits in our AVI lanes.

    e) You agree to provide, in a timely manner, to our Customer Service Centers, with any changes to your application information, license plate information, and, if applicable, credit card number(s) and expiration date(s), and bank account information.

    f) You agree to notify the Customer Service Center immediately if your transponder(s) is lost or stolen, and to be responsible for any non-authorized use of any transponder registered to your account prior to such notification. The replacement fee for lost or stolen transponders is $35.00.

    g) You agree to obey all applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing the use and operation of City of Laredo facilities and the Laredo Trade Tag Program.

    h) You agree that the City of Laredo shall not pay interest on any security deposit or prepaid amounts held for your accounts. All such security deposits and prepaid amounts shall be deposited with the City of Laredo, and any amounts due to be repaid to you shall be repaid as provided in the Laredo Trade Tag Program Agreement.

  3. If you close your account and return the transponder(s) to the City of Laredo Bridge System in good condition, you will receive a refund of $35.00 for each transponder returned. No refunds will be given for defaced transponders.
  4. If a transponder registered to your account is defective for any reason other than abuse or improper use and is returned to the Laredo Trade Tag Customer Service Center, it will be replaced at no charge.
  5. If you dispute any charge to your Laredo Trade Tag account, please call our 24 hr. number 1-866-LDO-TTAG or write to our Customer Service Center Complaint Division at P.O. Box 7019 or use our web site www.laredotradetag.com or simply go and visit one of our customer center representatives at any of our Customer Service Centers.
  6. You authorize the City of Laredo Bridge System Trade Tag Division to debit your account in accordance to the type and number of bridge crossings. You acknowledge that the City of Laredo Trade Tag Division may review periodically the activity in your account and with your approval make adjustments in the replenishment amount, if applicable, in order to more accurately reflect your average monthly toll usage.
  7. The City of Laredo Bridge System Trade Tag Division may, at any time, suspend or terminate your AVI account, and/or electronically invalidate your AVI transponder(s), for violations of applicable laws, regulations, or the terms and conditions of the Laredo Trade Tag Program Agreement.
  8. Neither the City of Laredo, nor the Laredo Bridge System or it’s Trade Tag Division shall have any responsibility or liability to you for any loss, cost, expense or damage to you or your vehicle arising out of your failure to comply with applicable laws and or regulations, or any terms and conditions of the Laredo Trade Tag Program Agreement, or out of your misuse or abuse of a Laredo Trade Tag Transponder, or failure to follow instructions for the use and operations of said transponder.
  9. Under no circumstances shall the City of Laredo, the Laredo Bridge System or it’s Trade Tag Division have any liability for any consequential, indirect, special, incidental, or punitive damages of any kind arising out of your participation in the Laredo Trade Tag Program.
  10. Except for its obligation under paragraphs 3 and 4, above, the Laredo Trade Tag Program makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, with respect to the Laredo Trade Tag transponders or the Laredo Trade Tag Program. The City of Laredo, the Laredo Bridge System and it’s Laredo Trade Tag division, shall have no liability or obligation of any kind whatsoever arising out of a) any defect or malfunction of a Trade Tag transponder or in any AVI lane, or b) the failure of any AVI lanes to operate at any time or the unavailability of any AVI lane(s) at any of the City of Laredo International Bridges. The Laredo Bridge System does not warrant any AVI lanes or that any particular number of AVI lanes will be available at any of the City of Laredo International Bridges.
  11. The Laredo Bridge System and its Laredo Trade Tag division shall to the extent that it may lawfully do so hold all customer information confidential. Customer account information is subject, however, to disclosure under applicable state public information law.
  12. The Laredo Trade Tag program Agreement shall be governed by applicable Federal, State and City laws.
